Information on governmental measures to introduce restrictions on movement

Dear Student,

We would like to inform you about the current governmental measures that were announced today and it is important to note, that there are still no coronavirus-infected person among the students and staff of the University of Debrecen.

In the unlikely event that you infected by the coronavirus, the government or the insurance company would cover your treatment, so you may feel safe.

In case you have any other medical problems the GP's Office can be visited during their official opening hours, please call them and book an appointment in advance on +36 52 316 666/ext. 23012.

Please stay at home as much as possible and minimize the social contacts in person, you can reduce the possibility of the infection and you can stay safe.

The Hungarian Government introduces restrictions on movement from 28th March until 11th April. Please see the details below:

People over the age of 65 can visit the grocery stores, drugstores, markets and pharmacies only between 9:00 and 12:00. Between 9:00 and 12:00 people under the age of 65 cannot go to these stores.

Keep at least a 1.5 meter distance from others in public, including public transportation.

Everyone is required to minimize social contact with other people as much as possible.

It is forbidden to be in catering units – with the exception of the employees of the facility. It is allowed to be in catering units for the sole purpose of buying, receiving and paying for food.

You can only leave your place of residence for the reasons specified in the regulation, these are:

• the purpose of work, professional obligations;
• for medical care or related health care services;
• shopping at grocery stores selling daily consumer goods (including stores selling food, drugstore products, household cleansing products, chemicals, hygiene products);
• shopping at pharmacies or units selling therapeutic medical appliances;
• the exemption also applies to refilling stations and tobacco shops;
• in case of administration requiring personal attendance, including the use of official administrative services, banking, insurance and postal services;
• walking pets.

Compliance with the restrictions is controlled by the police (military police and other law enforcement officials may be involved by the police). Anyone who does not comply may be subject to measures and coercive measures, subject to the requirements of necessity and proportionality.

The violation of the restrictive measures is regarded as committing an offense. The fine can range from 5,000 to 500,000 HUF.

We ask all students to keep the preventive measures mentioned in the University’s earlier messages and avoid public places. We ask the members of the University to help the efficiency of prevention with their responsible behavior!
