2020, March 2 - 08:30
As a supplement and clarification to the contents of the circular of 2020.02.27 we wish to draw attention to some further information

To All Membes of the University of Debrecen:

As a supplement and clarification to the contents of the circular of 2020.02.27 we wish to draw attention to some further information:

Should a student or teacher have travelled through an infected area in the past 14 days, they should refrain from joining communities for two weeks, should stay in their homes, and monitor themselves.  If they experience symptoms – fever, cough, sore throat, weakness, - they should stay at home, and call the Infectology Department of the University of Debrecen, Gyula Kenézy University Hospital at  06-52-511-866, who will transfer them to the Institute of Infectology, relying on the special transfer provided by the National Ambulance Service. In every case, infected (risk) areas are those relevant areas designated as such by the World Health Organisation. By the relevant case definition, at the time of the publication of the present circular infected areas are: China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Italy, especially the provinces of Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Piemont and Veneto.

If there are people who have been in close contact with a person with suspected or confirmed new coronavirus infection, and experience symptoms associated with the coronavirus infection (acute respiratory infection, fever ≥38°C, and/or coughing, and/or shortness of breath, with sudden onset, irrespective of the severity of the disease), they, too, should contact the Infectology Department of the University of Debrecen, Gyula Kenézy University Hospital at  06-52-511-866, who will arrange for them to be transported to the Institute of Infectology by the National Ambulance Service.

Hungarian dormitory tenants can call the 24 hour service of the on-call GP service at 06-52-404040, where the Emergency Clinic and the National Ambulance Services’s list of questions will decide what exactly is to be done.

If university students or staff have not visited areas affected by the new coronavirus AND experience symptoms of the classic flu (fever, cough, sore throat, or weakness), they should refrain from joining their communities, should stay at home, drink a lot of water, reduce their fever, etc. If their complaints worsen, and develop difficulty breathing, they should contact their GP/family doctor.

In questions not detailed here they should contact their GP’s/family doctors, or call the National Public Health Centre at 06 80/277-455 or 06-80/277-456 (green numbers!)

Our University does everything in its power to properly cope with this situation. Please help efficient protection by showing responsible behaviour.
